INTERIOR DESIGNThe event hall is located in Gerbeaud House. Established in 1858 by Henrik Kugler, the third generation of a confectionery dynasty, Gerbeaud House is one of Budapest’s oldest established cafés. Since 1870 it has been located on Vörösmarty Square in the heart of the city.
Our task was to use the rich past of the building as a starting point and to recreate elements in forms appropriate to modern needs of a 290 sqm event space.
Placed within the atrium of Gerbeaud House, the space had to reflect a quiet yet elevated contemporary style that suits the various events held in the space, such as weddings or corporate events.
Consisting of a lounge and a dining area, the inner courtyard of the house is covered with a glass roof, styled with tactile fabrics, natural tones, warm lighting and golden accents.
The entrance hall welcomes guests on caramel toned carpet running up to 90 centimeters on the wall and with a tailor made wall pattern, recalling the famous Cat Tounge chocolate shape, imported by Emil Gerbeaud to Hungary.
