ONYX - Entry Hall

The entry hall of Onyx restaurant in Budapest exudes an understated luxury through its atmospheric design and meticulous materiality. Muted earth tones, soft lighting and minimalistic geometry establish a sense of mystery, setting the stage for an elevated dining experience.
Upon entering a heavy wooden door fitted diagonally in a former column, guests find themselves in a vacuum-like space with textured plaster walls that contrast seamlessly with sleek black accents. Lighting is an integral feature, with hidden sources washing the curved surfaces in a diffused, golden glow, enhancing the tactile depth of the space. The palette of stone, metal and charred wood balances raw and refined elements. The washroom features a concrete countertop and distressed mirror installation by Boldizar Senteski.
This entry hall serves not only as a gateway to the dining areas of Onyx Műhely and ÆTHER but also as a sensory prelude to the culinary journey within. It captures the ethos of fine dining—artful simplicity, refined craftsmanship and timeless sophistication.
