ETAP

    INTERIOR DESIGN

ETAP is a wine bar and deli that puts emphasis on providing a variety of freshly-discovered quality Hungarian wines and selected cold cuts from gastro markets in a relaxed and natural atmosphere at affordable prices.

Our task was to design the bar’s interior and develop a distinctive identity, leaving behind the fancy wine bar trend and instead bridge the gap between elegant wine bars and other informal drinking establishments.

Our goal was to create a venue that makes you feel at home before and after work, or even for short meetings involving snacks. Hence the name of the place, "étape", which in French means a stage or stop (on a journey). The interior concept puts the emphasis on the products with clear, raw shapes and vast spaces. The modular MDF wall system adapts to the changing menu. It’s easily variable as you can arrange shelves and hang them in many ways. During daytime or low season part of the space can be separated. This playful flexibility is reflected in the logo and signage as well.
