BÖRZE

    INTERIOR DESIGN

Börze is a restaurant and bar located in the Budapest central and elegant V. district. The name Börze is an old fashioned word for the stock exchange, and it refers to the classical buildings nearby in the prominent neighbourhood.

The mood of the area served as a starting point in the interior design process. The floor is covered with mosaic tiles in a unique pattern, while the oak wood panels on the walls give a warm touch to the space. The products offered at the deli counter can also be part of the decoration using the modular shelving system.

The marvellous terrazzo counter is made of Carrara marble and limestone, and its classic colours are complemented with a modern pattern.

We used the traditional Budapest-Vienna-Paris coffeehouse atmosphere as a centre in our design concept. We aimed to create a vibrant, elegant place that fits modern needs and transforms from a breakfast place to an after-hours bar throughout the day. Apart from the chairs, everything is custom-made. The cupboards’ design and material usage combine the classic and contemporary styles. The benches and the Thonet-like chairs bring a coffeehouse touch to the space. The brass elements create harmony among the objects, as seen on the lamps and the furniture legs.

Other modern materials such as raw leather and green pots soften the space and bring freshness into the interior. The service area and the restrooms are located in the basement and can be accessed on caracole stairs. Their quality and detailed implementation are a worthy addition to the upper diner.
